About Dr. Becca Heiden

Becca Heiden, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who lives in St. Louis, Missouri. She has specialized training in child and adolescent psychology, both in therapy and neuropsychological assessment. Her main areas of clinical expertise include Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD), and anxiety. Although she specializes in child psychology, she works with clients of all ages.

Dr. Heiden has always been passionate about mental health advocacy. After she became a licensed psychologist, she knew she wanted to make an impact outside of the office by starting a social media profile that aimed to spread relatable and understandable information about mental health and mental health disorders. Dr. Heiden currently has over 57,000 followers on Instagram and 31,000 followers on TikTok, and works everyday to help break down stigma and spread facts about mental health.

Education & Experience

Dr. Becca Heiden attended the University of Notre Dame for her undergraduate experience and received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology as well as a minor in Education, Schooling, and Society. She went on to attend Miami University and received both her Masters and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology. Her dissertation focused on social emotional learning skills in children and she created a novel assessment tool to be used by teachers to evaluate the growth of these skills over time. Dr. Heiden completed her APA-accredited internship at the St. Louis Psychology Consortium and stayed in St. Louis to finish a 1-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Behavioral Health.

Currently, Dr. Heiden is working as a staff psychologist at the Center for Behavioral Health. She completes neuropsychological assessments for children, adolescents, and parents. She also runs the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for the University of Missouri - St. Louis, which provides free therapy sessions for all university employees. Dr. Heiden has also had training in various settings, including psychiatric hospitals, children’s advocacy centers, and community mental health facilities.
